One of the biggest advantages of artificial grass is how little maintenance it needs — but that doesn’t mean it’s maintenance-free. With just a little attention, your ZeroMow lawn can stay lush, hygienic, and great-looking for years to come.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Use a stiff broom or plastic rake to brush the fibres against the grain. This keeps your lawn upright and helps remove dust and light debris.
Tip: Pay special attention to high-traffic areas — brushing prevents flattening.

If your lawn is used by dogs, rinse any urine spots regularly, especially in warmer months. This helps reduce the build-up of odours and keeps the grass clean.

Clear away leaves, twigs, and plant matter to prevent organic buildup, especially during autumn. A blower or plastic rake works well.

You can use a pet-safe artificial grass cleaner or mild soapy water for a seasonal deep clean. Avoid harsh chemicals or anything oil-based.

• Use a soft brush or mop for scrubbing
• Rinse thoroughly with clean water
• Consider a biological cleaner for pet-heavy gardens

Our professional weed membrane and sub-base reduce weed growth significantly. However, airborne seeds may settle over time.

• Remove occasional weeds by hand
• Use a gentle, non-oil-based weed treatment if needed
• Don’t pierce the membrane or overuse chemicals
   

Note: Weed suppression is far greater with a correctly installed sub-base. At ZeroMow, we only install to the highest industry standards.

Artificial grass can warm up in direct sunlight. While it won’t melt under normal conditions, we recommend:

• Testing surface temperature before letting children or pets play
• Spraying with cool water during heatwaves to make it more comfortable
• Avoid placing BBQs or fire pits directly on the turf

We always recommend keeping any leftover offcut from your installation. It can be useful for:

• Small patch repairs
• Matching for future areas
• Creating pet zones or doormats
